TITLE: SSTV 4-19 – Repowering The Stamas, Part 2

DESCRIPTION: Part 2 of this series on repowering the 1978 Stamas Project Boat.   In this episode, John finishes the rigging, then takes his boat out on the water for a test ride.  The reason for the repower was to switch to a new four stroke technology which will increase his time out on the water between fill-ups.   John uses a Flo Scan to measure each engine’s fuel consumption then compares apples to apples which engine is better for the task.

DESCRIPTION: On the Stamas project boat John fixes a step inside the boat that doubles as entry to the bilge.   He decides to mcover it in teak wood.  He then addresses the issue of Non-skidding the inside flooring of the cabin.   We then do a prop experiment by replacing the stainless steel props on the outboards with plastic props that have inter-changeable blades.
